TransAmerican Crosswalk 2014 (will walk through Chatham County May 2014)

April 23, 2014 marks the official launch date for Vietnam War Veteran, Pastor Walter “Chick” McGill’s historic walk across America. At age 68, the second oldest male American to attempt such a feat will begin walking from the public access beach near Best Western (Ocean Bay Blvd) in Kill Devil Hills, NC on his way to Santa Monica Pier in CA. He will traverse over 3,200 miles and pass through portions of 12 states. An American flag will be his constant companion for the whole journey as he seeks to “promote a new birth of freedom and integrity” in America. Various Christian causes are on a list of “personal burdens” that Pastor McGill bears during this daunting project – Constitutional rights, parental rights, religious liberty, care for the homeless, raising awareness of the Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule, just to mention a few.

Pastor McGill seeks community participation through networking with churches and individuals that share the burdens of our nation’s diverse towns and cities. McGill says, “The family is our foundation of society, and local solidarity is encouraged as America finds healing through unity with God in which we trust.”

Pastor McGill is available for interviews via phone at 731-610-7341, and by email at info@transamericancrosswalk2014.com
