Subject: Seeking Volunteers for the Piedmont Farm Tour

The Carolina Farm Stewardship Association is seeking volunteers for the Piedmont Farm Tour, this weekend, April 26th and 27th.   We have 39 awesome Piedmont Triangle Farms on the tour, and we still need volunteers to help out at several farms in the Pittsboro, Chapel Hill, and Snow Camp area.

Volunteers typically help us at each farm to staff a registration table. This is where people check in and get oriented.  Doing this frees up the the farmer to do walking tours and show people around. Volunteers are essential to the success of the tour, and each volunteer receives a free, limited edition tour t-shirt crafted by Linda Fullwood at Weaver Street Market and are put on our Volunteer VIP List to receive a free button at the registration desk when they tour the other day with a carload of people.  We ask that folks show up at their farm at 1:30 and stay until 6 PM.

To sign up, simply go to our VolunteerSpot link and check out the available farms:   *http://vols.pt/fgA8HB* .  *Please note that if you want to sign up with a friend/spouse/partner, etc you are not limited just to the farms that say they have two spaces available.  When you click to sign up, any open space will have a “bring a friend option” and you can list your 2nd volunteer’s information and t-shirt size then.*

There are short descriptions of each farm at VolunteerSpot.  Longer descriptions are available at our Farm Tour Google Map: https://maps.google. com/maps/ms?msid=212426933499934642220.00047ce63f73d113ad8c2&msa=0 .  This could also help you select a site based partly on location.  Plus, most of the descriptions contain links to the farms websites – great places to learn more about the cool work going on at each site.
