I used to use the services of Jenkins Propane (hyway 64 between Siler City and Pittsboro) – I liked them and the service. But now, apparently the company has changed hands and I have heard that the new folks are not dependable for delivering fuel- even tho the customer is in good standing, as far as being paid up.

In the past month, I have been told by at least five different people that Jenkins has let their fuel tanks go empty and just yesterday, a grandmother told me she had spent the past two days and nights without heat. Both nights, the temps were at or near freezing. Calls went unanswered or were given the ‘run-a-round’ with questions like “are you sure it is empty?” or “have  you paid your bill?”

When  I had Jenkins as a provider, they themselves told me that letting the tank go empty is a bad thing- “It leaches the line.” Whatever that means.

This is a disgrace- Times are bad enough for consumers without “unreliable” establish companies giving us the shift.

If you are one that is being jerked around, report them to the North Carolina Attorney General. Consumer frauds division.
