Subject: Shooting Range
I’m excited at the prospect of a range close by. I’ve taken several classes offered through Carolina Firearms with a certified trainer (and a police officer, to boot) and have had my permit for two years. I travel all the way to Raleigh on a regular basis, not only to perfect my target skills, but to continuously remid myself of safe firearms use, safety, law, etc. I plan on taking refresher courses during the summer.
Not only did I learn to shoot in order to protect myself, home, and family but mainly because I was terrified of firearms in general. It was on my “bucket list” to at least overcome some of the fear. I found that proper understanding, training, practice, and general handling of firearms with people who had a healthy respect for the firearms safety and practice relieved me of some of the prior biases I had against firearms owners.
