The post by Taus BALOG is an excellent opportunity to help the lovely Crepe Myrtle tree.  Extreme pruning of Crepe Myrtles does not encourage new growth or more blooms.  If you prune you should do so gently to enhance the overall shape of the tree.  NO TOPPING please!  This has become a common practice and is VERY harmful to the health of a any tree.

If you want to read about correct pruning, here are a couple of links:

I live halfway between Pittsboro and Carrboro and I have a number of mature
Crepe Myrtles along the driveway.

I am looking for someone to come in and prune them to encourage more new
growth and blooms. I assume this is a good time to do this. I don’t want
them cut back to matchsticks, however.

Can anyone recommend a service to have this done? While I’m interested in
being contacted directly by businesses, I’d prefer to be contacted by
satisfied customers as that tends to influence me the most.
