Subject: Pittsboro to Raise Taxes (again)
Last year Pittsboro raised property taxes and raised the water/sewer taxes.
Thought you were safe this year? No such luck… their proposed budget raises property taxes again this year.
Their excuse this time? “our property taxes are low compared to some surrounding towns”
I guess that same logic didn’t apply to water/sewer which are higher than surrounding towns… by their own “logic” shouldn’t they lower it?
Ironically, these same commissioners and mayor applied for and got Pittsboro designated as a Retirement community… way to go, jump up taxes two years in a row on people with a fixed income… brilliant.
They can’t even bring themselves to stop paying for the empty bus going round and round from Chapel Hill to Pittsboro and back, I guess for them, ideology trumps reason.
