Is anyone else unhappy with Verizon Wireless Broadband service?

Subject: Does anyone (else) use Verizon Wireless Broadband?

I live about two miles from the cell tower behind Belk’s in Siler City. I have Internet from Verizon Wireless, and I’ve been arguing with them for over a year because that tower isn’t really strong enough to get the signal to me. So it’s very slow when it works, often doesn’t work, and is very frustrating all around.

I’d like to know if anyone else is having this sort of trouble with Verizon — if you are, please shoot me an email at the posted address above. (I really don’t see this being just me.)

If there’s enough response, I will copy-paste the various messages into one big email (your email address and other identifying parts will not be copied!) which will go to someone high up at Verizon Wireless who I’m in contact with. (I did the “email a CEO” thing awhile back, and have been speaking with someone in that office.) I’m not going to mention this person’s name because I don’t have their explicit permission. Similarly, I won’t be giving them your name or contact info — I believe that confidentiality is important!

If enough people have issues, and Verizon hears about it, they will (hopefully) upgrade the tower in question (and maybe others as well), which will benefit everyone with this service.
