It is always so nice in this day and age to be reminded of the goodness and kindness of others. So I felt I had to share. I came home from dinner with my family on a Friday evening to see a post on my PPF – Project Proud Families fanpage on facebook. It read that Doug’s Auto and Tire was going to join forces and donate a percent of their sales from the month of October (Disabilities Awareness Month) to our nonprofit to help children who are “differently abled”. OH MY!!

Doug Cunningham and his family could have chosen to support someone else, and they could in these tough economic times chose to put it toward their family, but he chose to give it to us so that we can create a better path for our families.

Please support those that support our community.  Doug’s Auto and Tire. His address is 863 Sanford Rd. Pittsboro Phone: (919) 542-5996

I cannot tell you what a heart stopping moment that was for me as we work so hard to give our families support, education and a life of inclusion. My incredible group of volunteers Tammy Trotter (Asst. Director), Jeannie Roscoe, Angie Blackmon, (Medical support) Jessica McLaughlin, Melba Dixon, Tricia Culberson, and Gwynneth Harrington all volunteer without a dime, nonstop, just b/c they are passionate to bring about change for our families. If you get an opportunity to see them out. Give them a thank you for making your community a more inclusive, loving, one!

Come “like” our page and see the story, and remain current in all that we are doing to make change in the county. Whether you are a parent, teacher, organziation who helps those with different abilities you are all welcome.
