Did you know that fetal alcohol affects between 2 and 5% of all children in the US?  Did you think this was only a disorder affecting Eastern European adopted children?  Did you know that it is estimated that 70% of those children in the foster care system have been affected by alcohol while in utero?

FASD (fetal alcohol spectrum disorder) is the leading preventable cause of developmental disabilities.  Many times women do not know they are pregnant for 2-3 months and may be drinking during this time.  This is not only the burden of children of alcoholic women.

Learn more about how to deal with children with suspected or diagnosed FASD at a monthly support group for parents and caregivers of those on the third Tuesday of the month.   Feel free to contact me for confidential information about the group and about this prevalent disability.
