The Annual Curves Food Drive benefiting CORA ends this Saturday, April 30.  CORA is seeing a great need for food here in Chatham County, so all donations are appreciated.

“Bloom Where You Are Planted” was the theme for the North Central Extension and Community Association (NCECA) District Day held on Thursday, April 21st at the Trinity United Methodist Church, King, NC.  Six members of the Chatham County Extension and Community Association (ECA) attended this inspirational event.  In addition to the business meeting for the NCECA District Day, members of the organization were offered the opportunity to attend tremendously informative programming to bring back to the Chatham community.

Donation Drop Off For Sanford Tornado Victims

We have a drop off location for donations for the Sanford Tornado victims at Bouldin Williams Agency Nationwide Insurance, 250 East St. Pittsboro, NC as well as the State Employees Credit Union in Pittsboro.

All donations are welcome, as we have a trailer here at the office ready to be filled. God bless everyone who is donating, volunteering, and praying.

Your Guinea Fowl Predator sounds like a great horned owl

Sounds like a great horned owl.  They take the head and leave the rest.  We are closing up our chickens at night for protection.

Recycled Towels, Blankets, Pet Toys Needed This Satuday

The Natural Pet Health Store will be a  participant as a recycling resource in the EARTH DAY CELEBRATION – LET’S  TALK TRASH on Saturday April 30th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
 
This event will be held at the Central Carolina  Community College in Pittsboro.
 
We are encouraging everyone to clean out  their closets and toy supplies and bring in any blankets,  towels and gently loved pet toys that your 4 legged companions are ready to  part with. This is a wonderful way to make space
in your house, to practice  recycling and to go home with a great sense of accomplishment!
 
All blankets, towels and toys will be donated to  LOCAL area animal rescue groups and our very own local animal shelter.  So,  the more you bring, the more you will be helping Chatham County animals in  need.
 
Come out for the day and enjoy the various  presentations, children’s activities, food vendors, giveaways and other swap  sites that will be there.

The Chatham County Historical Association would like to announce the May 1 grave marking of James Emerson, Chatham County Regulator and Revolutionary War Patriot.  The grave marking ceremony will be conducted by the General Francis Nash Chapter, North Carolina Society Sons of the American Revolution.

I want to add to those individuals who have sent in praise about Heads Up! Therapeutic Riding Program.  My daughter rides at Heads Up and has also volunteered as a side walker.  It is a great program that is beneficial for so many folks, children and adults alike.  I have been amazed at the increase in self confidence, coordination, and posture since she has been riding.  We are so fortunate to have this program in Chatham County!
