I just wanted to share some things that Brian Bock had to say when he was courteous enough to reply to the message I posted on the chatlist a while back.

He contends that he is serious when he believes that the private sector will lead us out of the recession.

Chatham Coalition’s vice chairman John Hammond is flat out lying

I do not like to dignify mud by responding, but since Mr Hammond is flat out lying I want to set just a couple of things straight.

I am a VOLUNTEER for the Brian Bock, Pamela Stewart and Walter Petty campaigns. Why would a campaign attack the volunteers for candidates? It seems to be an attempt to intimidate individuals from participating. Mr Hammond why don’t you just tell us why you support your candidates instead of drawing these crazy, outlandish tangles webs of national politics tied to our local county candidates and their volunteers?

Chatham Coalition’s John Hammond continues Campaign of Hate and Lies

Monday Brian Bock, one of three challengers seeking election to the County Board of Commissioners, asked readers to check out the candidates’ platforms. We encourage that as well. But in the case of Bock and his Tea Party-inspired slate, their real platforms are not visible on their websites. They are taking their cues from Big Money-backed national extremist groups, such as Americans for Prosperity and the John Locke Foundation, as well as from Tea Party gurus like Glenn Beck.

Subject: Birthday Candle for Keara

Keara would have been 35 this Sat. Sept 4th. Please light a candle on her website www.kearalynnehart.com. Thank you. I her siblings, and children appreciate knowing that people care. Even after four years I still have trouble believing that she was murdered. Her birthday, the anniversary of her death, and holidays are especially hard, so again thanks to those of you who light a candle.

I would like to share a story about integrity, honesty and character… I eat at the Flamingo Rest. in Pittsboro on a regular basis. I was there last month and paid my bill not realizing that the waitress gave me back $10 less in change than she should have. When I went to lunch yesterday, this same waitress was very excited to see me as she

I’m a graphic designer and have been working on the brochure for the Chatham County Fair – it celebrates 60 years this year! The Chatham County Fair is a great opportunity for local folks to show off their best recipes and promote the fruits of their labor in gardens and farms across the county. It’s a great community event. There are literally dozens of categories that people can compete in and it’s not too late to enter check out the Fair’s website:

Actual spending increased significantly in Chatham County

In response to Larry Hicks:

You state that we are 5th in spending out of 100 counties in our state, but fail to mention that we are just below the middle of all counties in results. Other counties are getting much better results with far less money, would it be too much to ask of our commissioners to learn from the ones who are getting it right?
