Thanks Henry for making your observation about the loyalty of a number of patrons of the GSC. I am a patron of the General Store and I love their food.
That aside, I also have a number of customer service issues arise over my years of patronage. I have attempted to find resolution to my unease through contact with Vance and Joyce directly, over the phone and through email. My multiple attempts at contact went unanswered and my problems with GSC unresolved. Despite being ignored I have returned, again and again.

My wife and I have been to the General Store on many occasions. The objective fact of the matter is that they are extremely inconsistent. You can have an awesome dining experience on one visit, and then a terrible one on the next visit and then an awesome experience on the following visit again. There is no pattern that I can discern, and I think this partially accounts for why you see such divergent opinions and reviews.

Thinking of growing a spring garden? Chatham County Center of Cooperative Extension will offer an introduction to food gardening including fruits and vegetables. This program will be a repeat of a program offered last fall. It will cover the basics of garden site requirements, plant needs, soil preparation, variety selection, planting times, and harvesting.
In addition the class will cover some of the fruit crops that are easy to grow and likely to produce an abundance of fruit for the summer breakfast table or desert selection. Significant among these fruits will be the berry crops.

Central Carolina Community College (Pittsboro campus) is beginning a Natural Chef Culinary Arts Program.
This program emphasizes Nutrition and Therapeutic Cooking where students learn the principles of health promotion disease prevention and how recovery ultimately leads to longevity. A Basic Culinary Techniques course of study will also be offered. Food Science and Farm to Fork (preserving, organic, seasonal food) along with International and US Regional Cooking techniques are a few of the planned course offerings. Classes begin this fall.
