Subject: Propane prices
Thanks to everyone who responded to my inquiry about propane prices. Here is a summary of what people told me. I have includes ONLY reports of “past week” deliveries, given the speed at which prices change. Also please note that I DID NOT validate these figures with the vendors… Simply reporting to you what was reported to me by
Chatlisters.
Jenkins $2.79
Blossman $2.79
Payne $2.849
Cooper $2.949
Also, one Chatlister reported that Cooper (perhaps others as well?) sells at a significant discount if you own your own tank. Again, unconfirmed by me.
Most interesting to me was a link forwarded to me, below, that lists wholesale and retail prices for fuel oil and propane. While grocers typically work on a markup of 25% or less, gas distributors are enjoying nearly four times that markup!
