Subject: Don’t Miss Glenn Miller Orchestra coming to Northwood Feb 9

Next month, the Northwood High School Jazz Ensemble will compete in  the internationally recognized Disney Jazz Celebration in Orlando,  Florida. The festival will be judged by jazz giants from across the  globe, and Northwood student musicians will participate in jam  sessions and clinics with these musicians as well as receiving  ratings, comments and scores.

To prepare for the festival, the Jazz Ensemble will present a special  concert for the community on Tuesday, February 9, at 7 p.m. at  Northwood’s newly renovated Benjamin J. Lee Auditorium.

The new year brings opportunities for new collaborations and good works to be done. Resolve to join us on Wednesday, January 20th for Wake-Up Wednesday at the Community House at 65 Thompson Street in Pittsboro. Everyone is welcome! Doors open at 8 am, program is from 8:30-9:30 am. Admission is $5 and includes a fresh and delicious breakfast from Donna Bianco at Our Neighborhood School & Pizzeria.

Subject: Free Support Group Forming

Those raising children who have special needs resulting from fetal alcohol exposure are invited to join with others who share similar interests via a newly organizing support group. Day, time and location of support group meetings will be based on the majority needs of participants. Group anticipates beginning regular monthly meetings in late January. Email support can begin earlier.
