Beggars and Choosers is closing after Christmas. We will be open Mon. Dec. 21 thru Thur. Dec. 24. The store was robbed the day of the street fair. We were hit hard and it has taken the joy out of working and I need to take a break to get my groove back.

We have had a great 32 years serving this community and I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have supported me, my family. and Beggars and Choosers. Please continue to support the local business’s and resturants in town. They need your support in order to continue serving you.

Subject: Ford Lot Scoundrels

Hi ….. I too went to the Ford Lot to “correct” the scoundrels by showing my support for the situation.  I was hoping to drink some coffee and eat a hot dog (I don’t normally eat hot dogs, but I was going to get a hot dog just to represent) …. but darn!  Everyone had left by 3:30!  I guess I’ll have to get there earlier!

Buying Christmas gifts in Siler City

December 20th, 2009 · No Comments

From: judy
Subject: Christmas gifts

Yesterday I was at Mina Bean’a in Siler  City getting some delicious hot chocolate, and The Global Heart has their shop set up there – all fair Trade merchandise.

Everything is beautiful and useful, and at incredible prices!  I bought a lovely wooden bowl with bamboo inlay – I’ve seen similar bowls in Asheville, Raleigh etc for $100-$200. I paid $10. They have amazing and gorgeous things at The Global Heart – silk scarves and silk jackets, placemats, coasters, candles & holders, all sorts of bags from yoga bags to shopping bags and purses, there is stuff hanging up – kids mobiles and wind chimes..  And everything seemed to be at least half price.   So if you are looking for a different and beautiful Christmas gift, it’s well worth checking them out

Murder mystery dinner theatre is very offensive

December 20th, 2009 · No Comments

From: Darien Russell
Subject: Murder mystery dinner theatre

As someone whose daughter was murdered it is very offensive to me to think that anyone would use murder as a form of entertainment.

I think CORA is a great organization but I wish you had put more thought into what you decided to do as a way to raise money. It shows little thought to those of us that have had a loved one murdered. Using murder as entertainment is part of what is wrong in this country. Putting the words positive and playful with murder is ludicrous to me.

From: Lynn Scott
Subject: Big Daddy Dog’s thanks you!

Hello everyone! I just wanted to say thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to all of you who have went out of their way to stop by and grab a hot dog or just to welcome me and my husband as a new small business in Pittsboro. Mobile or not, we are still a local business and we are here to stay. My schedule is to be out at the Old Ford Dealership Monday through Friday from 11:00am to 2:00pm for the lunch crowd. If I have extra hot dogs cooked and I don’t have to go to one of my son’s basketball games I will try to stay through 3:00pm or 3:30pm. Even if it’s cold (except below freezing) I will be out there.

From: Mariah Wheeler
Subject: Business Intro the Joyful Jewel

Hello Chatlisters,

Enter via the water walkway (colorful sidewalk mural) to the sound of music.  You’ll soon see that The Joyful Jewel lives up to its motto of “one of a kind treasures for the discerning soul.”  We offer jewelry, art, scarves, sculpture, cards and original music cds.  The artists represented create items that take time, and require inspired
processes as well as skill. These are treasures that are rare, as by their nature, the artists’ natures, and the care given to each piece, they can’t be mass-produced.  We’re sure to have pieces to suit your taste and, surprisingly to your budget too.
