NHS National Art Honor Society & NHSAEF, in partnership with Art21,
Inc. as part of its Art21 Access ’09 initiative, presents a sneak
preview of the fifth season of Art:21—Art in the Twenty-First Century,
the only prime time national TV series focused exclusively on
contemporary art, on Thursday, October 15 at 7pm at Studio 852—
Northwood High School’s new art studio. The event features a small
participatory art activity, a previewing of Episode 3:Transformations,
and an opportunity for discussion. This event is free and open to the

Lordy I have not heard such belly aching in a while.  Geez!  Have you not been paying attention?  We NEED Public Transportation for a wide variety of reasons!!  Global warming, gas emissions, cost of gas, traffic, etc.  That is what the bus is for.

Whenever there is something new, it takes a while to really catch on.  Even though folks agree we need “something new”, when it actually happens, it takes a while for folks to get used to the change.

Subject: Beyond the Pail

Hello Chatlisters,

I want to turn you on to another Chatham County treasure in case you  don’t already know of her work.

Yesterday Ginny Gregory and her  helpers came and transformed my garden/patio area. I was too tired of  trying to battle the deer and drought anymore so I asked for her help.  I was just expecting her to take out the plants that couldn’t flourish  in my garden and replace them with deer and drought resistant ones.

Subject: $360,000 to bus 4 people on 40 passenger bus to Chapel Hill

Have you seen that empty Chapel Hill bus running up and down 15-501 between Pittsboro and Chapel Hill.

Wondered if anyone was actually riding that thing? Wondered how much it costs and who was picking up the tab?

Well, the Chatham News reports that Pittsboro Express bus running up to Chapel Hill is averaging only 23 riders per day.

With six bus runs each day that works out to less than 4 people per bus.

THANK YOU ALL THAT RESPONDED!!!  A bunch of you wanted me to post the results of my query so here it is…

I had 33 respondents with the following results:  25 people said they use the internet exclusively, 5 people said primarily the internet but will grab the phone book once in a while, and 3 people responded that the phone book is their main source for local numbers.

Of the internet sites google was largest search engine mentioned with 411.com, switchboard.com, yellowpages,com, directory.com, and bing.com also noted.

Subject: busing cash out of taxpayer pockets

I think I mentioned before the idiotic idea of a bus route using the most inefficient bus on the planet was a bad idea . I also had several agree with me that there was a transit network of smaller busses already running in this county that could be used to do the same job . But I forgot our county government loves to bus our hard earned tax dollars out of the county as fast as they can .  Everyone I have talked to that is familiar with the new bus route laughs about it and feels its a big pink elephant eating up tons of cash for what purpose ?  I thought we voted commissioners in that would make a difference . They have ,, they have increased the cash flow going out of our pockets !
