Subject: gas prices
Cole Park may be going downhill, but – surprise – the gas prices in the area are now better than the area I previously recommended, which was West Main St. in Carrboro from Weaver Street out to the 54 intersection. Today, around Cole Park, the price was $239.9, and on W. Main, it was $242-243.9.

Subject: roundabout
The roundabouts create really lousy traffic flows, and I am sorry to see that one is being put in for the new library and along 87, with the life of several trees being part of the cost. I avoid the one at the courthouse whenever I can—some lanes get to go, even when it’s not those cars’ turn according to who arrived first or waited longer, and I have seen the one in Southern Pines or thereabout leave long lines of cars waiting to go.

Silk Hope, NC – There is something special about that first live music experience. As a kid, seeing that music is not just something that happens, but something that takes time, dedication, and practice, and that it is something that anyone can do, is very important. The folks at Shakori Hills obviously know the importance of music and art, but they also know what it means in the lives of children. Not only is the Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival very welcoming to children and families, they also know how special is it to bring the art to the children in their own world.

Barry Rhodes out of Siler City is a top-notch plumber. He did great work for us in our old home!
It’s been over 5 year, but I think he replaced the hardware in our shower. It was perfect! He placed a blanket in the shower as not to scratch the flooring. He cleaned his messed before leaving. His charges were very reasonable! As well, he was the plumber when we built our new home in Chatham. I was always able to speak to Mr Rhodes in directly by calling in the evenings. 919-742-2947

Subject: I need advice on cell phones
I was a very content Alltel customer. Verizon has been difficult to deal with, they offered me an upgrade and only after I got the upgrade did I find out they charge a month in advance on the new phone even though I had an old one with Alltel. The changed my plan to one that I don’t like that doesn’t suit our families needs. They offered to change it back to a similar plan to the one I had with Alltel requiring me to upgrade two more phones eating up another $300 to $400.

Subject: Pittsboro Express Passenger Count for Friday morning, Sept. 25
With all the discussions about the $353,000 Pittsboro Express bus on
the Chatham Online Bulletin Board and the ongoing tinkling contest
between several BBS members I decided to ride down to the Pittsboro
Lowes parking lot on Friday morning and see for myself how many folks
were on the bus.
7:15 am – 7 passengers
Bus heading up to Chapel Hill

7:34 am – 2 passengers
