Can anyone tell me where I can go to see how the lottery money is dispersed?
I saw a commercial where they collected 1 billion dollars so far. I also hear and it may or may nor be correct that the governor grabbed some of that money for the state debt. My understanding was that money and lottery program was earmarked education only.

Wonder if everyone could please put which town or city you are talking about when telling us of some wonderful things going on in Chatham County.
I for one, do not know all the street names or business names well enough to be sure just where you are talking about. Don’t want to miss out of anything interesting or yummy because I don’t know where it is. Thanks so much.

For changing the tone of the chatlist today.
You are right, there are amazing things happening in our community and you are right to point out the generosity found here.
Tami Schwerin and Lyle Estill have given so much to our community. I am always saddened when they are slammed here.
They both work very long hours, often with their kids at their side doing good public work. This work goes way beyond Piedmont Biofuels, The Abundance Foundation and the Plenty.

Angelina-I just want to tell you that your homemade frozen yogurt is out of this world! It has to be the most heavenly healthy dessert I have ever put in my mouth. And, I didn’t feel guilty eating it!!! If you haven’t tried Angelina’s frozen yogurt (or her Greek yogurt, for that matter!), then you MUST head directly to Rectory Street & give it a try!
Donna-The Flan is super-fabulous! I’ve just about finished the WHOLE one all by myself!!

Subject: BOE changes long time meeting policy
Does anyone know why the Board of Education has decided to stop having regular meetings at the individual schools? Next year all regular meetings will be held at SAGE. Really sorry to see this happen. One more buffer between the system and it’s users. The BOE’s annual meetings at the schools were a great way to show accomplishments and air concerns. Folks would come who may have never thought to attend a BOE meeting. I do not understand the motivation behind this change, unless it is financial.

Subject: Good things going on here in Chatham
There’s often a lot of negative talk about our local surroundings, but today I’d like to discuss some “good things” that may get overlooked with all of the daily bickering & chatter.
I’ve had the opportunity of working with several local businesses during my time at the library. I have to say that I’m most impressed with the businesses in this community and their support for our local establishments and organizations.
