Don’t you think First Citizens Bank has a good looking  building at the Harris Teeter shopping center? I do and I also found  out that the fake front facade  extends inside the  building.

FC websites use phrases such as “focusing on the  needs of each individual customer;”  and “pride in delivering  superior service that consistently exceeds expectations and surpasses industry  standard.”

The Board of Directors, past and current  Presidents, confirm that it is a very successful family business.   Good for them but not for us common folk.

Thank you for sending me this list.  I now know which of my friends I should pressure to end their participation.

I was there in Pittsboro Feed when Lyle was putting the pressure on Christine and David, it was sickening. Y’all are a little too overzealous in your pursuit of the program.  You yourself talked me out of participation with how pushy you were being.  It looks like that zeal is going to be what kills it.  It also will probably kill the willingness of folks to work with you and Lyle in future endeavors.

I agree with Billy Bob’s post about deer hunters’ need to take more does to decrease the overpopulation.  But one thing I read about in several places recently (maybe even here) that he didn’t mention, is that the deer species here is being weakened because the biggest, strongest, healthiest bucks are being slaughtered, allowing the inferior males of the secies to be the breeders.

If nature were allowed to take her course, the inferior males would be fought out of the game by the better bucks.   Over the generations, the deer will deteriorate and be more prone to sickness and deformities.

To Tom West,

Sounds like you already have a job and a car to get there.  What if you didn’t?  This proposed bus will offer transportation for people who work in Chapel Hill or along the 15/501 corrider or are seeking employment.  Yes, this is needed especially in this economy.

The request to Pittsboro Commissioners for $24,000 will cover the first 18 months of operation, when we’ll learn the potential for ridership.  This is $1,333/month;  a very small expenditure to offer Pittsboro residents without transportation a chance to reach employment opportunities.
