Subject: Appliance repair
To Jeff, who was looking for a recommendation for appliance repair. I wholeheartedly recommend Archie Hackney at Pittsboro Appliance! We have replaced every appliance in our house except the dishwasher and count on him everytime. Our latest purchase was a stove and it was $150 more at Lowe’s! Plus he installed it and took the old one away. I wasn’t there when it came so I reminded my husband to sweep the floor back there before Archie put the new one in. But he didn’t have to! Archie did it!

Subject: deer in chatham–the “best” and the “inferior”
In reading posts over the last few days, again I saw it written how the hunters take the “best” bucks and leave the weaker inferior bucks to do the breeding. This is simply not accurate.
It must be said that the best strongest dominant buck in Chatham County was once a thin bodied young buck. If most of us had seen that little deer we might have called him weak and inferior but given 4 or 5 years he becomes the boss.

Subject: Chapel in the Pines Blessing of the Land
Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church, a new congregation now meeting at North Chatham School, is working with architects in Charlotte to determine what the church’s needs are currently and what they will be in the future.
“We are excited about ways that we might be able to serve the community through our land,” said the Rev. Mindy Douglas Adams, pastor. “We have been in conversation about a community garden, a walking trail, an outdoor amphitheater and a number of other ideas. We hope to begin to use the land long before the first construction begins.”

Subject: Antonella’s refuses the Plenty
Although I agree that Antonella’s Salon is an excellent salon, I am frustrated by their refusal to take the Plenty. Last weekend I got a haircut there and when I gave my tip in Plenty’s I was informed that they were not accepted there. When I asked Antonella why she didn’t take the Plenty she told me that it wouldn’t work for her business, that she couldn’t pay her vendors in Plenty’s, that she had already lowered her prices due to the poor financial crisis, etc…In fact she was borderline defensive in her refusal of the Plenty.

Subject: problems with CCCC
Dedrah:
You are 100% correct about problems at CCCC.
As a full-time student, I have experienced your frustrations over lack of communication and unwavering, illogical rules many times. While not all, but most of the staff at CCCC
acts as if students should feel lucky they are helping us.
At CCCC, the right hand seldom seems to know what the left hand is doing. It is a shame CCCC doesn’t stress to their staff that the student’s tuition money that helps pay their salaries.

Subject: CCCC does care
As hard as it was to write the complaint about CCCC, I’m glad that I did.
I’ve had several responses from others with simular experiences so I don’t feel so alone but more importantly, Theresa Cry and Karen Allen of CCCC were quick to let me know that they did care! Their responses and sincere attitudes righted all of the wrong even if they didn’t help my daughter get back on track (and they did) I would have been happy just to know that this was not what CCCC was about but they went above and beyond. Thanks to them and thanks to those that responded.
