Many many thanks to our community from the actors, musicians, artists, and technicians of the recent successful run of “Kudzu, a Southern Musical” at Chatham Mills.

Over 900 local folks supported local arts by being very appreciative audiences for our recent production!

I am very proud of the hardworking group of 40 people who put together a show that proved that you can attend entertaining  theatre without leaving home!

FORGETTING EARTH
by Tim Keim
MAY 5, 2009

I’m not quite sure how I came to juxtapose species extinction with Alzheimer’s Disease (AD), but the more I think about it, the more sense it makes. Species extinction and AD share a common root. Researchers have identified environmental factors as one of the chief causes of AD. The environmental factors in AD and species extinction are, in general, the human created disturbance and pollution of the delicately balanced composition of our air, water and soil; the building blocks from which we and our host (Earth) are made.

So thanks Jeff. Happy Mother’s Day to you and yours.

Heather, if you read Jeff Lane’s post carefully, you will see that he does not suggest that controlling human population will control deer population.  I’m quite certain that Nancy Pelosi has not suggested birth control for the deer overpopulation problem in Chatham County, either.

Deer to blame? I dont think so!

we are so quick to blame the deer, bobcats, and coyotes for the loss of our car, pets, veggies… when think about all they can blame us for.  We make them have to come into our back yards.  We make them have to cross the road for water.  We keep tearing up their land.  Where else are they going to go for food if we cut it all down? they have to go to our gardens.

$24,000 for “Pittsboro Express” busline that few will use

Subject: $24,000 for “Pittsboro Express” busline that few will use

The Pittsboro Town Commissioners will be discussing the budget on Monday night at 6:30pm. It may be a good idea to contact the commissioners before the meeting and ask them why they plan to waste $24,000 on the “Pittsboro Express” busline in today’s economy. The busline is supposed to run from Pittsboro to Chapel Hill and expected to serve less than 100 people.

This is only a part of the entie $360,000 needed to run this service
