this is in response to the question about where would restaurants get the liquor from.all liquor is purchased from the local ABC store. it is preordered and set at a higher price and stamped with a tax stamp. the liquor is required to be bought from ABC store.
every restaurant that serves LBD in NC must have a tax stamp on it. it cannot be purchased from other sources.

Purchases of liquor by Chatham County establishments who get a LBD license (if the vote should pass) must be made in our county stores. Sellers must buy from the store(s) in their ABC jurisdiction. It would not save them anyway, since all stores in the state have the same prices and the same LBD add-on taxes.

RDU & Group Trips. Just found a great Transportation service for RDU and reasonably priced. I am pleased with them and many FEARRINGTON residents are using them. What is nice is that they have other vehicles if they get swamped with other trips. Great to know if you need to get “to & fro” to RDU. They even gave me $5.00 off on their 1st trip. Executive Express — 459-3630 Thanks. Pam – a Fearrington resident.

Midnight during thunder & lightning last night – amorous frogs chirping their urgent invitations. “SGF ISO courageous female for sparks among the sparks.”
Horney toads (must be how they got that name!). Anyone want to try kissing one? And “Frog went a courtin’ and he did ride . . .” Drats, I’ll never get back to sleep.

…..and have already found a ‘silent’ investor/partner who is ready to come aboard when the time is ready to expand. The expansion will involve getting another new 12 passenger van, for larger group tours, and another Ford Flex for RDU runs and smaller group tours, six, the same amount as can do now.

With much of the traffic on US 64 now bypassing Pittsboro, surely we could do with half of the police protection there without anyone really noticing.
Maybe Pittsboro could save some money on the police force and put up better signs, particularly at the traffic circle, so we’d have less work for the police in writing accident reports there, too. Pittsboro might even be able to save enough money to provide a parking lot downtown and get rid of the angular parking, which might cut down the police work in writing accident reports associated with backing out into traffic, too.

Subject: Yielding at the Traffic Circle in Pittsboro
All motorists should know the right of ways with traffic circles, but unfortunately, many of them experience them very little, and do not know they are supposed to yield to vehicles in the circle. I have noticed that other communities that use traffic circles tend to use very large signs to direct motorists to yield to cars in the traffic circle. Perhaps overhead signs would work better there. But, if you want Pittsboro to improve their signage, I can tell you from experience that it takes a lot of preserverence to get it done.

Subject: Signaling in traffic circle
I agree on the concerns for safety at the Pittsboro Traffic Circle. Having grown up in England with roundabouts there basically are 2 rules. 1. Yield to whoever is on the circle – traffic coming from your left and 2. Signal when you are exiting the circle. Then people know which direction you are going.
