Subject: RE: Flowering Tree Identification
I just wanted to thank all who responded to my request for a plant identification. It appears to be some kind of wild azalea even though it’s more of a small tree rather than bush form.
Here are a couple of links that show what I saw except for the form of the plant. It may look more tree-like because of it’s position in the woods though or it may be a slightly different variety. The flowers and leaves look pretty much identical to the ones shown on the links below though.

Subject: Why are school board members Russell and O’Brien endorsing LBD?
Why are school board members Kathie Russell and Flint O’Brien publicly endorsing “Liquor by the Drink”?
The other BOE members – David Hamm, Deb McManus and Gerald Totten – are NOT publicaly saying you should vote for Liquor by the drink.
Why are these two Chatham County school board members, Russell and O’Brien, even involved in this discussion? How does the ability to buy booze by the shot affect our children’s education and welfare?

The Leadership Chatham Class of 2009, a program of the Chatham Chamber of Commerce, is excited to announce the online Chatham Community Events Calendar.
The calendar is a group project that Leadership Chatham participants have been working on for the past several months. The calendar will serve as a central repository for community events being held in Chatham County. You will be able to access the calendar through the Chatham Chamber of Commerce website at www.ccucc.net. We plan to go live with the calendar by the second week in May 2009.

Please, enough of this silliness. Maybe Cramer can rediscover Bunky and give us some quiet. After all, Cramer caused nothing it was those evil veterinarians, or so I read in his posts. Enough, I cry enough.

Subject: Carpenter Bees
Does anyone have any ideas on how to discourage Carpenter Bees?
I don’t want to kill them but do want them to leave my front steps alone. I heard there is a Carpenter Bee “house” that can be made. Does anyone know how, who, or if they will even use it? They are very beautiful and I am sure they have a use but I wish they were not at my house. They seem to be a problem all over the Chatham County area this year.

Nothing better for the health and welfare of Chatham County than fewer deer.
May the coyotes feed and feed some more.

I for one was not influenced by Elliot Cramer’s stories about Pittsboro Animal Hospital. I have my own stories.
I once had 14 cats registered at Hillcreek. I had spent thousands of dollars there. Seemingly, with each month, they became more complicated, more money oriented. I finally just couln’t take it any more. It was just too stressful going there.
As far as the compassion part from Pittsboro Animal Hospital – I have yet to see it..

Subject: Death Swamp?
I would put my money on it being beaver, not someone trying to kill us all by building a swamp. We live approximately one to one half mile from this “swamp” on the south side, and can assure you there are several beaver ponds between us and your “man made” swamp. Your best bet to contact might be Mother Nature.
