The Bynum Front Porch is seeking submissions from local artists for it’s second annual summer art series.  Selected artists will have the opportunity to exhibit their artwork on two consecutive Friday nights in conjunction with the popular Bynum Front Porch music series inside the historic Bynum General Store.

The theme for this year’s series is “Change”, a current buzz word that can be interpreted in any way you see fit.  For more information please email Matt Zigler at matthewzigler@gmail.com.  For more information on the Bynum Front Porch go to www.bynumfrontporch.org.  The submission deadline is Friday April 3rd.

Subject: From Concerned Parent…

I am a parent of a wonderful 13 year old who has aged out of any local after-school program and is too young to work. We live in such a rural area and I am finding myself unable to find a place for my son to go after school or spend the summer. I am aware of the fact that many of the Horton Middle School students frequently walk downtown after school to hang out at the local restaurants until their parents are able to pick them up after school. Along with many other concerns that I have about this, I am very concerned about the effect that this has on the local downtown restaurants and merchants.
