Carole,

My problem is not with the function of Officer Hadley’s position, it is with the demeanor in which he carries it out.

*Chatham Artist Featured at Catawba Valley Pottery Festival *

Three years ago celebrated Chatham County potter, Mark Hewitt (http://www.hewittpottery.com/), built a new big kiln to fire alkalineglazes. He already had one kiln the size of a school bus, used for firing salt-glaze, but he likes alkaline-glazed pots so much he felt compelled to build a new kiln. “I guess it was because I love the color green,” says the English-born Hewitt.

Hi Allen:

I hope you figure out how to program the computer so we can enjoy the chimes again.  I live on Oakwood Drive on can hear sometimes from my own yard.  But, I have one request.  Please time them not to go off the exact same time the Baptist Church bells ring.  If they both play at the same time – it’s not music, just noise.   Thanks!!!!

Deer have a right to be on this land as we do

Thirty years ago I met my husband of 24 years.  He hunted almost anything edible and between my garden and his hunting we bought only the bare necessities from the stores.  At first I hated the fact that he killed the little Bambis.  Since I have lived in the very rural area of Chatham County I want every visible deer killed.  They destroy my decorative and edible plants – all my gardens.  We have two herds on our 75 acre farm each of around 20 deer.

Good suggestions for finding lost pets

Subject: Good suggestions for finding lost pets

Thanks, Kathleen, for your very good suggestions for finding lost pets.

I want to add two more suggestions.

1 – Take and keep current pictures of your pets that will show clearly in black and white. If a pet is missing, signs with pictures get a lot more attention than signs with just words, and a picture is easier to  match to a dog or cat than a description. Color copies are expensive, but a good black and white picture is almost as helpful and a lot cheaper. Even if you can afford the color copies, some times your picture may be recopied in black and white, so make a black and white copy yourself in advance to make sure that the picture is still clear and the dog doesn’t disappear into the background without the color.

Do not go over the speed limit and be a courteous driver

From: carole henry
Subject: speeding Pittsboro

I say this because I want  y’all  to know that I lead a law abiding life and I am above suspicion.

I have a suggestion to avoid being pulled over by the police in Pittsboro and not having to meet up with Officer B Hadley, who, after all is said and done,is doing his job. Do not go over the speed limit and be a courteous driver. When you disregard the speed limit, you BREAK THE LAW, waste this counties resources (oil) and leave yourself open to being pulled over by law officers who are there………. to stop people from breaking the law. I think it is called consequences.

From: Trent Leonard
Subject: Looking for Host Families for International Exchange Students

Hello Neighbors!

I have taken a part-time job with the company International Student Exchange (www.iseusa.com). ISE carefully screens and places H.S. students with host families in the U.S. They are currently looking for host families for students in the Chatham School District and Chapel Hill/Carrboro school district. The students come with their own spending money and health
insurance.  Host families simply provide room, board and a loving home. This is a great opportunity for you and your family to learn about another culture. They have students from all around the world: including China, Vietnam, Germany, parts of Scandinavia and Mexico. All types of families are welcome to host students including singles and couples.

According to public records, Chatham’s Human Relations Director, Esther Coleman, was employed as Director of Personnel Services with Loudoun County Public Schools in Virginia for approximately two and a half months.

Shortly after Coleman began her job with Loudoun County Public Schools her supervisor met with her to tell her that she was not working long enough hours. In addition, he sent Coleman a series of emails expressing questions, concerns, or comments suggestive of her failure to perform or complete duties and assignments.
