ClydeFEST 09 Looking for Local Artist Volunteers

Howdy. My name is Stephan Meyers and I‘m currently working with Gilda McDaniel from ChathamArts to bring together ClydeFEST 2009 which will be held on Saturday April 25th at the Bynum Ballfield.

We’re on the look-out for Local Chatham County Artists who, beyond their passion for art, share with us the desire to enrich children’s lives. To learn more about ClydeFEST and just what it all means to be a Local Artist Volunteer head on over to www.chathamarts.org.

One of the most pernicious and difficult experiences of my life

I have also had Lyme’s disease recently and found it to be one of the most pernicious and difficult experiences of my life.

At first it was a flu, then it was a slow degradation of my energy level and I just thought I was getting slow, old a little over done.  Next I felt sleepy all the time and there was a fog around my mind, almost like you had just woken up all the time, then the shakes and finally after all this time, I knew something was wrong.  I found a little bite mark, so small I had just ignored it and it must have been there for months.  But there is was a little teensy bullseye.

Brian Bock has designed a very informative and interactive new GOP website! If you want to be alerted to events and action items, please check it out.

I particularly enjoy their newly adopted resolution regarding the BOC ICE Resolution. The GOP posted their resolution on their website prior to voting on and adopting it so that they might give their members an opportunity to give input that included comments and changes to the resolution ;)

I have placed all of the videos I taped concerning illegal immigration from the 2/16/09 BOC meeting into a playlist available at http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=BFB53A6376780980

I think I have a couple of more to add.

I currently plan to attend the CCV forum on the 26th and get some video clips from that event as well.

Commissioner George Lucier is scheduled to appear.

Farmer’s Alliance Store is a hidden treasure

Subject: Hidden Treasure

Much to my surprise, I ran into some people today who didn’t know about The Farmer’s Alliance Store hidden away in Siler City. It are the oldest business in Chatham County and have been in business continuously for over 121 years at the same location.

Spring planting season is here and they have new seed potatoes, vegetable plants and “bulk” seeds in stock. Instead of paying way too much for a small package you can get your seeds weighted out by the ounce. They also have bib overalls, gloves, galoshes and hoop cheese.

Fellow Chathamites,

The recent reevaluation  has thrown many folk  into a tale spin, wondering how and why the values were given.

Within our website(www.weaverstreetrealty.com) is   a copy of a recent article from the  tax office that may shed some light.  As brokers with the Triangle Multiple Listing Service, we have access to the sold data which  we are glad to share.

Give us a call if you think we could help.

All the best,

I think Carole is right on the Tick Borne Diseases in our  area.

2 years ago, a good friend was diagnosed with RMSF…so, just to be  safe, I had my doctor run the full tick panel for me.   I too came  back positive for RMSF.   (Did I mention…I am a tick  MAGNET???)   Anyway, my husband was tested the same summer and was  treated for Lymes.   I have also had 4 other friends or acquaintances  that have been diagnosed and treated for a TBD…..so, yes…..get  tested!    And keep an eye on your pet’s as well!!!
