Subject: Christmas Trees
There was recently a suggestion posted about additives to use in water for preserving Christmas Trees. We hear these suggestions so often, they tend to take on the ring of truth. But when researchers evaluate these additives, so far they have found that nothing works better than water. They even report that some additives actually accelerate the tree’s drying out.

This is not a business as there is no charge.
I wanted to make everyone aware that I have started a support group for family members and friends who have lost their loved ones through either homicide or suicide. As those of you who have experienced this tragedy in your lives , you probably know it can be a very isolating experience. Even though people try they cannot possibly imagine the devastation, trauma, and horror that you might be living with.

I want to congratulate Linda Allred Cooper.
Most people would not have had the guts to do what she did – stop and challenge one of these “stoplight preachers”. In this case, the gospel being preached was “don’t wear fur – an animal had to die for your fur”. And this preacher wore a Santa Claus costume.
This reminded me to look for, and find, an old fur cap, which I will now start wearing again. It’s a beautiful, black fur cap which I bought and wore in Canada when I lived up there. It will make some kooks fur-ious.

Rita Marley-McKenzie brought up a great point!!!! Job Loss is at an all time high right now and taxes are eating most of us “alive”. If Liquor By The Drink should happen to bring in new businesses (restaurants, motels, etc.) then that is another FANTASTIC reason for a YES vote!!!
Anything that will bring in industry and jobs…and yes, liquor by the drink, then I am all for it!!!! All in favor raise your hands!!!

Subject: LBD confusion
What boggles me about the LBD debate (cleverly placed as a “special” election with low turn out), is that the folks who are crying “we don’t want strip malls in Chatham and big box stores! Support local businesses!! Slow Growth!! (Really no growth)
Yet these cries conflict with their no growth desires so they can enjoy a Martini at Cabellas or whatever “fancy” restauarants you claim will bring the extra revenue because they can serve LBD.
