Subject: Chatham County
I just took this survey and I would like to encourage as many people as possible to do the same. It only took me about 4-5 minutes. If our voices can be heard, and enough people put in their two cents, maybe, just maybe, our sweet county will grow properly. Seems to me it can’t hurt.
This is a copy of an e-mail I received from Chamber of Commerce. The link is provided.

Subject: Unused/Unwanted Pesticide Collection Day
There will be a collection day for unused/unwanted pesticides held on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Southern States – Siler City Service from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
This is a free service provided by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in cooperation with North Carolina Cooperative Extension. This program will allow you to properly dispose of any unwanted pesticides. Unused and unwanted pesticides can present a potential contamination problem around the home or farm. There are many such products still stored in storage buildings or garages because the people don’t know how to properly and legally dispose of them.

Regarding Deer (#3270), after years of close calls with deer on the road, I put silent “Deer Whistles” on my car’s front bumper 16 years ago.
I have not had one deer in front of my car ever since, though I see them waiting on the side of the road. (I glued the whistles on with super glue to help them stay on.) They’re cheap at hardware stores and Wal-mart…
