Another Robbery/ Lamont Norwood Area

I is with sadness I need to let you know there was another robbery last evening ( Thurs) at 5:30 ish on Winding Branch Rd.
We have very particular information for you but mostly we want you to be aware that you need to let your neighbors know if you are expecting any kind of truck or repair or delivery. Otherwise neighbors should call police if there is an unknown vehicle in the area. Even if they just drive in the road and back out….
This is very concerning because in this robbery the owner walked in on the robbers. There was a fairly new Dodge White pick up truck in the driveway with “Murphy’s Construction” on the truck. The NC plate # is BP8643. The owner parked behind the truck and walked in the house. The robbers ( 1 Caucasian 1 African American) were upstairs rummaging through the rooms. They ran when the owner came in on them and he chased them but when they got to the truck they pulled out a gun and told him to move his car ( he was blocking in their truck). He did and they took off. But he had all the info first. Again it seems like they pried open a back window with a shovel and got through that way.
What is scary is the weapon and the fact that they were so brazen as to not even try to hide the vehicle. So… we do need the neighborhood watch and we do need to spread the word to our other neighbors who I don’t have e-mail for. Please let them know of this situation. Beverly Miller is working with the sheriff’s dept to set up a date and time and place for us to meet to hear about the neighborhood watch.
We all need to be suspicious of vehicles that don’t belong and to let our neighbors know when we are going away. Many of us are not home during the day but if we are be aware of our neighbors homes as well. If you have an alarm start setting it … if only a deterrent to the robbers who invade our peace! (I am lazy about this but am going to do it now!!)
Again, share this info with your neighbors. This is now the 4th one on Lamont Norwood recently and the 3rd in our small neighborhoods in the last 5 months.
