Charter school opens major new facility in Chatham
A charter school that began only 10 years ago with fewer than 100 students in a small, then-rural shopping center in Chatham County is opening its own site-built building on Monday (Aug. 25) with more than 485 students.
“We know, however, that a school is not a building. It is, instead, a community of people who create a setting where dreams and high ideals matter,†said Principal Harrell Rentz.

Subject: Painter Recommendation
I finally made the move to Chatham County and I’m lovin it so far. I can’t wait to get settled in more and have all the work behind me.
In getting my 1930′s farmhouse remodeled I came across an excellent painter who does lots of work for the bigger contractors around central NC. In fact he painted Siler City Elementary, Bonlee Middle School and Horton Middle School as a contracted job. Martinez Painting, owner Diego Martinez who speaks excellent english and has a wonderful disposition to boot.

Subject: hard water
Since we have moved to Bennett, NC we have discovered the really hard well water here. It has a very unappealing “earthy” taste– so we are not drinking it.
I took a sample to a plumbing supply place and it tested at 32 grains. No iron, but calcium and magnesium. The guy there said that he had heard of hard water in Boone area at 18 as the hardest– but I won the prize for having the hardest. He joking asked me to bring in another sample so that he could amaze is friends and co workers. Then he told me that I would need the “big boy” water softener unit ($1200 unit).
