Subject: Consider Sponsoring The Second Hoppin’ John Old-Time & Bluegrass Fiddlers’ Convention at Shakori Hills

The Second Hoppin’ John Old-Time & Bluegrass Fiddlers’ Convention will take place at Shakori Hills on September 19 & 20, 2008. Fiddlers’ Conventions are and have been a unique part of North Carolina’s musical and cultural heritage for over a century. Hoppin’ John features contests for old-time, bluegrass and non-traditional stringbands, and individuals can perform in a variety of categories including fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, bass, folk song, dance and youth musicianship. The event gives every musician and dancer a chance to perform on stage, regardless of their age or level of experience.

At the Hospice Office for 3 days starting September 8.

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
September 8, 9, 10
Mon. & Tues. = 9am to 4pm
Wed. = 9a to 12 noon
Hospice Office in the Chatham Mill Building
480 Hillsboro Street, Pittsboro

Volunteers are part of an interdisciplinary team of professionals serving patients near the end of their lives.
Volunteers serve patients and families in their homes, give office support and assist with special events.

I wanted to let everyone know of a wonderful, family-owned restaurant in Siler City. PC’s Cool Place is everything that a restaurant  should be: Clean, good prices,  good food and WONDERFUL Customer Service!

Yes, they are a bit off the beaten path…sort ‘a  like me;0…but, you will not regret giving a small-locally owned and operated  business a try.

PC’s is everything that a small Southern restaurant should  be….friendly, with hard-working owners and the meals are simple and  basic…but, good. You can get anything from Pinto’s and Cornbread  to Bologna Sandwiches, as well as Blue Bunny Ice Cream for dessert!

As soon as people stop employing questionable tactics to sell stuff to older adults in Chatham, I’ll stop posting… THANKS Gene, for making it possible for our community to share info.

A company called Southeast Community Care called and wanted to serve ice cream at both our senior centers. Said they work with seniors, etc.

Southeast Community Care sounds friendly enough, right?
