Subject: Liberals vs. Conservatives
In the battle to prove who is most intolerant of other views in Chatham County, I do believe that my fellow “liberals” have won hands down. It’s shameful.
And now we are going to use the credentials of our ancestors who fought in the Civil War to prove how much right we have to speak up with these opinions? Give me a break.
Now you can lay off of Morrie, who asked a perfectly legitimate question, and rail on me for a while.

Subject: Freedom of speech
In Chatlist 3194, Angel Dennison, talking about a sporting event at Northwood, says “I was witness to the worst racial anti-hispanic rant I have EVER heard”. Angel, you should tell the moms who made that rant to go to an event at the Bynum General store. Morrie said (#3193) she was disturbed by a singer there, who, at the end of the evening, was singing a spitritual and suddenly turned it into a left-wing political chant. But we are told that, at Bynum, all points of view are welcomed.

Subject: Correction of public information
It has come to my attention that Beltone Hearing Aids has been publishing the addresses of the Chatham County Senior Centers in Pittsboro and Siler City in national directories as “Beltone Hearing Care Centers.” This is a misrepresentation.
The intent of the Council on Aging was to offer professional hearing
screenings to older adults, not to function as retail hearing aid sites nor
to engage in commerce.
Beltone will no longer be utilizing the Chatham Senior Centers.

Hi, Chathamites. And thank you Gene for this forum. I just wanted to support Angel in her parental sportsmanship for Northwoods soccer team. I can proudly say I am a Northwood alumni. I hope there will be just as great a soccer team at the new high school, yet to be built, that my kids will probably go to.
Keep up the good work, Northwood Soccer team!
Jenny
