Subject: TELEPHONE BILL:  Embarque/ESBI

Please check your telephone bill. We got ours today and Embarque had added two charges of 14.95 each for a total with tax of 3.199.  This was for a voice mail service that we had not ordered and don’t want…… from a third party called ESBI.

I notified both ESBI and Embarque that this was not a proper charge
since I had not contracted for any such service. They both promised
me they would remove the charge but that it would take up to 60 days
to do it. Didn’t take them 60 days to add it. ;-(

Having read all the horror stories about Chatham businesses lately, I would like to highly recommend two places of business:

Pittsboro Appliance, aka Archie’s place, is a joy to work with.  Archie knows his business, is very reliable and really embodies customer service.  You can call him on the phone, explain the symptoms or noise your appliance is making, and he’ll either diagnose it on the phone for a free resolution or send a repairman who also knows his stuff.  Resolution of any problems is usually very speedy.  Pittsboro Appliance 542-5178

I enjoyed her freshly made tzatziki and other Greek samples at the Taste of Chatham

Tzatziki, tzadziki, or tsatsiki is a Greek meze or appetizer, also used as a sauce for souvlaki and gyros.
Tzatziki is made of strained yoghurt — in Greece and Turkey usually sheep’s-milk or goat’s-milk yoghurt — to which are added cucumbers (either pureed and strained or seeded and finely diced), garlic, salt, cracked black pepper and usually olive oil, dill, sometimes lime juice and parsley, or mint.
Olive oil, olives, and herbs are often used as garnishes as well.

Subject: Some Areas of Southeast Chatham May Lose Chance for  County Water

PITTSBORO-Unless more southeastern Chatham residents living on certain roads sign up and pay the reduced rate tap fee for county water service by Sept.. 10, 2008, they run the risk of not having county water service in their area. “This means that even if they don’t want to be Southeast Water District customers now, they may well be shutting the door on that option for the future,” said Roy Lowder, director of Water Utilities.
