Friends of the Pittsboro Memorial Library Book Club will meet on Tuesday, August 5 at 6:45 pm in the Reeves Gallery at the library. The book selection is “The Mistress of the Art of Death” by Arianna Franklin. (Fiction).
It’s hard enough to produce a gripping thriller — harder still to write convincing historical fiction that recreates a living, breathing past. But this terrific book does both, and does it with a cast of characters so vivid and engaging that you’d be happy to read about them even if they weren’t on the track of a sexually depraved serial child-murderer.

Subject: bad business



I have refrained from complaining about any business since I’m in business myself but since others have complained here goes.
I’m in the market for a good used car that is of course good on gas. I saw a Toyota Prius on the Pittsboro Chevrolet lot and although I was in a hurry I thought I would get a price on it. I asked the salesman what was the price and he did not know but if I would go to his office and see he could tell me. I’m in a hurry so if you could just give me a price I would appreciate it.

Subject: complaining




I have been reading and learning from fellow chatlisters of good and bad experiences with local businesses. There seems to be a trend here. The local automotive service and sales companies seem to want our business. Many have spoken up for and against several local businesses that provide vital transportation and service to the local community. I have myself mentioned an unfortunate and inconvenient brush with one of the companies in the area (much to my chagrin).
