I have refrained from complaining about any business since I’m in business myself but since others have complained here goes.

I’m in the market for a good used car that is of course good on gas. I saw a Toyota Prius on the Pittsboro Chevrolet lot and although I was in a hurry I thought I would get a price on it. I asked the salesman what was the price and he did not know but if I would go to his office and see he could tell me. I’m in a hurry so if you could just give me a price I would appreciate it.

A long 5 or so minutes pass and he finally returns and tells me that the car had just been sold. So I asked what did it sell for? He didn’t know. I was shocked so I said if you sold it you have to know what it sold for. He again says if you’ll come to my office we can find out. “I don’t want to go to you’re office I just want to know how much the car sold for! So he says he’ll have to get his manager, by this time I should’ve left but no I stayed in hopes of getting a price.

Again 5 or so minutes pass and the manager comes out and I say well what did it sell for? He says could I have your phone#, email and home address.  ‘No I just want a price of the car!” He says well just how much would you pay for a Prius, $20,000 $18,000? “I’m not giving you a price I’m asking you for a price!” FINALLY he says the car sold for $18,000. Would you like to come into my office and we can talk?

That was it for me to ask the cost of a car is usually the first  thing I want to know . I felt like I was on candid camera. This had to be a joke. I was furious when I got home so I called Sanford Toyota and asked the price of a prius $21,000. After what I went through with Pittsboro Chevrolet the $3000 more sounded like the best deal in the world! If they are in the business to sell cars giving  out the price is the first key to success.

The whole experience was intimidating and infuriating and I myself will never set foot on  the Pittsboro Chevrolet lot again.
