I agree with Dan, My experience at PBO Chevrolet was inane, oh come on you can afford this payment…..
I finally went to Craigs list and am really happy with our new (to us) car. Good old neighbor to neighbor commerce. I highly recommend it and State Employees Credit Union for the car loan, we have banked there for years with fair rates and excellent customer service. I just wish they were not building that huge new space, who needs those big trusses anyhow?

Subject: Trying to start up a new sports program
Meg -
As sports parents, I think you and I can appreciate someone who is trying to start up a new sports program. Don’t know much about all the people involved yet, but I would have the tendency to give them a break. If I were to start something new, as an individual parent, I would probably start with my local school and expand from there rather that trying to go county-wide right away. I hope that it is a school sport that we could play on a county-wide basis.

It was brought to my attention that a couple of houses have been robbed in the area of Crawford Dairy Rd. and Collins Mountain Rd.
One happened during the day while no one was home the other at night when people were at home. Be vigilant for strangers asking for help and slow drivers “casing the joint” Get a license plate number if possible. If you can, ask your neighbors or a friend to check on your abode during off hours – after you leave for work.

Subject: Why are they in business?
There seems to be a flood of complaints here of late on businesses in Chatham County that are simply not customer friendly. The owners of businesses that are really successful put customers first, employees second and stockholders (owners) third in their list of objectives and priorities. Giving customers MORE value and quality than they expect is a sure way to not only get their repeat business but the business of their friends as well. Business owners that do this will find more profit from more business and won’t have to resort to sleazy methods to cheat customers.

Subject: Insider’s knowledge of Chatham
There are many posts and BB entries about who does what in Chatham, what the Sheriff’s department is doing about this and that, what’s happening to agriculture, the impact of the Hispanic population on County services, etc. More often than not, the posts are asking for information.
Everyone has a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes in public safety, local government, health and human services, agriculture, economic development and other areas, and gain an insider’s knowledge of Chatham County.

So I was looking over my Calendar for August, and found that a really *GREAT* event was going on the night of the next Theology on Tap. And rather than have to chose, I thought – why can’t we do both?
On Monday, August 5th, 2008 at 7pm, gracepoint community is presenting “Faith and Life 101 (part 2)” with the absolutely amazing author (and Duke faculty member) Mickey Efird. I don’t want to miss this, and neither should you. Please join me at CCCC that night for this great opportunity.
