Several people have asked me lately about local mentoring opportunities, so I thought it would be a great time to remind everyone about a wonderful agency right here in Chatham, Chatham County Together!. CCT! matches local mentors with at-risk school-age children and youth. They also provide a family advocacy program for families with children who have disabilites as well as a pregnancy prevention program, Hablando Claro. In addition, they serve the children in this county through tutoring, recreational, educational, artistic, and camping opportunities.

This program needs you. To be a mentor or tutor, all you need is a love for seeing children reach their full potential. You don’t need a college degree or a big-paying job. There is a child in Chatham just waiting for someone like you to be there for them.

Please also consider contributing to CCT!. I know our purses are tight with the declining economy, so I wanted to offer two great ways to give to this truly deserving agency without opening your wallet:
