I got a chuckle out of the reference to lacrosse as being an sport that is “exclusive” and for “white, upper class boys.” Obviously from someone without a  clue about the sport.

I grew up in Syracuse, NY, a city bordered by the Onondaga Indian reservation. Lacrosse is actually the “french-ification” of a stickball game called dehuntshigwa’es in  Onondaga. More can be learned at Wikipedia, if you are interested in learning  the history of lacrosse.

1)            The Town of Pittsboro is seeking a volunteer to serve on its Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.  As the name implies, the Board is tasked with advising the Town on issues related to Parks and Recreation. The current vacancy is for someone residing within the Town’s Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) but not within the Town Limits.  For more information or an application packet please contact Paul Horne, Assistant Planner for Parks and Recreation at phhorne-at-nc.rr.com. Mothers and their children and Mothers-to-be are invited to come to La Leche League of Chatham’s first ever Breastfeeding Café, this Wednesday, July 23rd from 10am to 11:30am at Chatham Marketplace in Pittsboro.

Chatham Marketplace is located in Chatham Mills about 1 mile north of the traffic circle at 480 Hillsboro Street/US 15-501N.

This will be an opportunity to socialize and share the joys, challenges and secrets of nursing with other Mothers.
