Subject: Chapel Hill Tire band wagon…

I too stopped going to Chapel Hill Tire several years ago.

I had plans to travel to Florida, then on to Colorado by myself with 2 small children (ages 4 and 6), a dog, and 2 cats and wanted to make sure my vehicle was in tip-top shape. I took it to Chapel Hill Tire for a “trip check” and requested that they thoroughly check EVERYTHING, including all pads, fluids, hoses, etc.

I also paid them for a tune-up, an oil change, and the patching of a tire that had a slow leak.

Well, the brakes went out in Florida – the pads were old and worn almost down to the metal. It really bothered me that Chapel Hill Tire had missed something so basic! I wondered if they had even performed the “trip check” at all. I was again stranded on the interstate in Kansas with a flat tire – the same one Chapel Hill Tire had supposedly patched.

There was another incident which I have forgotten but I haven’t forgotten the vulnerable (and potentially dangerous) position their negligence twice put me in with my children. Hurrah for AAA! My favorite mechanic whom I trust completely: Mr. Barber at Barber Automotive in Goldston. He is worth the drive!
