Subject: 3RD FRIDAY ARTWALK IN SILER CITY

The NC Arts Incubator is pleased to announce that the 3RD Friday ArtWalk on July 18 will sponsor two patriotic themed events in their public space at 223 North Chatham Avenue. The featured artist will be Douglas Rowe of Aberdeen whose specialty is aviation and military painting. “Paint for Freedom” is a community participation program where anyone can paint a wooden postcard of encouragement that will be presented to veterans or military personnel.  The cost of the postcard is $7.50 and painting sessions will be held in the Arts Incubator Workshop Room from 1-4pm and 6-9pm. In addition, visit with artist Wole Ajala for a demonstration of Scroll Saw Art and a hands-on family activity.

The featured band for July 3RD Friday is Nu-Blu. This bluegrass concert is sponsored by Chatham Chevrolet and will take place on the Siler City Rotary Club Stage in the Courtyard from 7-9pm. During the concert,  lease visit the new “Courtyard Coffee & Soda Café” for a sneak preview.

For book lovers, 3RD Friday will feature two book signings. The Arts Incubator Gallery will host Chatham County biodiesel expert Lyle Estill who has a new book on our local economy titled “Small is Possible”. In addition, visit Raleigh Street Gallery for a book signing with Kathy Oddenino and meet inspirational mixed media artist Olivia Brown. Many galleries, businesses, and restaurants will be open during the 3RD Friday ArtWalk located on North Chatham Avenue and Raleigh Street in downtown Siler City.  Just look for the yellow flags!
