*Don’t Miss Sarah Shook at the Bynum General Store Friday Night*
Join us at the Bynum General Store on Friday, July 11th for an evening with Sarah Shook. Sarah is a 22 year-old, self-taught singer/songwriter from upstate New York who wrote her first song when she was 11. She describes her music as indie-y, blues-y, rocky, folksy and lots of other ‘y’s. Music begins at 7 pm and continues until 9 pm. Bring a chair, sit under an open sky and enjoy the music, each other’s company and tasty treats from Barney’s Hot Dogs.

Gee Dan, how about some volunteering opportunities?
There’s a ton out there. I too am off in the summer but have always had the kids to keep me busy. That’s not happening as much anymore so I’m finding opportunities to help some other folks out. I don’t have a pack of friends due to my less than fuzzy personality, but there’s always someone out there who’s glad to see someone, anyone who can lend a hand.

Subject: Mural Project
Hi neighbors,
This post is in reply to Diane Swann’s regarding the Pittsboro Mural Project. For my two cents I’d like to offer my thanks to all artists, volunteers and generous patrons who have put in the time, talent and funding to bring this funky fresh dimension to our little downtown.
I enjoyed seeing artists and youth working together as I drove past the circle. I’d like to see outreach to some of our local seniors as well. Their knowledge and experience of our town’s history are invaluable! I think it would be really cool to see depictions of downtown the way it looked mid-20th century. The great photographs displayed at Chatham Mills by the Northwood Alumni evoked lots of smiles and nostalgia!

Subject: Park and Ride
Regarding catalytic converter thefts–maybe now would be a good time to ask county and UNC to share that parknride lot.
I thought it was for everybody, hooray, and learned it’s for UNC stickered folks, right?
Maybe if Chatham provided an attendant in exchange for Chatham citizens being allowed to park and ride to Chapel Hill, it could be a win win situation!
