Once the items have been dropped off at the boxes they are the property of the Thrift Store and anyone removing the items except for those that take the items to the store are in effect stealing from the store.
I would recommend to anyone that witnesses the same type of action that Bill did to get the tag number and notify the police immediately. That individual who took the items actually stole from every student in the county since the proceeds from the thrift store goes to the schools to buy supplies that are not in the budget.

Subject: Chatlist Sponsorship Calendar is now up!
I have set up a Chatlist Sponsorship Calendar at
http://chathamchatlist.com/sponsorcalendar.html
It’s a Google Calendar application that allows those who are interested in sponsoring a chatlist to see what days have already been spoken for and which ones are still available.
As you can see most of the remainder of May is spoken for and we already have a bunch of days in October reserved.
Now I have to automate the submittal and payment methods a bit and we can smooth out the process a bit.

Subject: Coyote Fencing
Animal control experts out west suggest that “Most coyotes readily cross over, under, or through conventional livestock fences. A coyote’s response to a fence is influenced by various factors, including the coyote’s experience and motivation for crossing the fence. Total exclusion of all coyotes by fencing, especially from large areas, is highly unlikely since some eventually learn to either dig deeper or climb higher to defeat a fence. Good fences, however, can be important in reducing predation, as well as increasing the effectiveness of other damage control methods (such as snares, traps, or guarding animals).” A wildlife specialist who did his graduate work studying coyotes once told me that “the dumbest coyote is smarter than the smartest dog.”

Jason:
The income from sales tax in Chatham would be negligible. Where were you when the LTT was discussed? There were forums all over the county and it was much discussed by those who know the difference in income that would be generated by sales taxes vs. the LTT or property taxes. It was also pointed out that less-THAT’S RIGHT LESS! than 17% of the population of Chatham County would have paid the LTT. Yet it failed because the National Realtors Association and the National Home Builders Association poured $100,000.00+ into it’s defeat. Aint it great that the very people who are making the most $$$ off the development that Chatham County is experiencing spent their PAC money to put the funding for infrastructure on the backs of the current property owners of Chatham?

I have always been, and still do, promote the General Store Cafe as great place in Pittsboro. Unfortunately, GSC cannot decide if it is to be a dining location or a loud music showcase. This becomes a definite problem when a party of 10 has to leave the dining room and go outside in order to be able to hear the adjacent person speak, as happened to me recently.
