Actually, I have done some opera and have a great appreciation for the full figured woman. If you know me then you know what I mean. Sometimes those skinny women are wound up so tight they can’t enjoy life. There are other perks as well (which modesty prohibits me from elucidating).
I am a prima donna. Love me or leave me (I’m used to it).

Dear Fellow Chathamites,
I’ve been following the “If you don’t like it, don’t go there” thread on the chatlist.
To me, it’s not that easy.
McDonald’sand other multinational corporations don’t want to co-exist. Local business owners can decide to only go for a portion of the market, but publicly-traded companies don’t have that luxury. They are here only to make money for their shareholders, and they want - no, need - the entire market share.

Just thought that this was a good comment sent to me about the restaurants coming to PBO and I thought I would share what the comment was to me and what I wrote back. I didn’t put who wrote this to me because they sent it to my personal email.

Subject: Fast Food
In general I don’t have a lot of luck when it comes to fast food. I have what I call the fast food curse. If there are two lines for food in a fast food place I always get the slow line. When I order, other people will come
in, place their order and walk out with food in hand while I am still standing there.

Hold the phone, indeed. Before anyone starts misconstruing what I posted yesterday, let’s go back and re-read my letter.
I LOVE S&Ts. They are my favorite place to go for a Malt of other ice cream treat, and their chicken salad is most excellent.

Dan,
Thank you for your comment and thinking of us. I assure you that the Friends of Mount Vernon Springs are working very hard to figure out a way to get the park and community center built.
We need more members to help us accomplish our goal and more money. We have raised some money but not nearly enough to purchase the land to build because the owners want $10,000 per acre. There is also a possibility of a baseball field and maybe some other options but we need the help to get everything accomplished.

Subject: may be misinformed about iceberg lettuce
Hello, It’s great to know there is a new restaurant, however it appears you may be misinformed about iceberg lettuce.
This from a nutrition website: www.nutritiondata.com
Shredded iceberg lettuce
The good: This food is low in Sodium, and very low in Saturated Fat and Cholesterol. It is also a good source of Thiamin, Vitamin B6, Iron and Potassium, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Folate and Manganese.

Formerly known as The Scoreboard, Virlie’s has been freshened up and it is now a non-smoking establishment. The food is good and kids are welcome. The Pratt’s have done a nice job in making Virlie’s a clean, kid friendly restaurant for Pbo.

Subject: New Siler City Restaurant
Hi Everyone!
Siler City has a new alternative to hamburgers and fries! I visited Mina Bean’a for lunch and loved it. I had the Mina Bean’a chef salad. It had lots of ham and chicken on a bed of mixed greens!
I stress nutrition in my chiropractic practice and co-taught a nutrition class at the Western Chatham Senior Center in which we explained that iceburg lettuce has no nutritional value. It can not be counted as a vegetable since it has no nutrients!
