Interlopers are on the prowl in Chatham county. There is a publishing company from somewhere in Georgia, is calling small business’ to advertise with them in what they call “Southern Historical News”

It’s bad enough that local papers across the country are losing readers to the Internet, TV & News Radio now they have to fear interstate print competition.

Over the past 40 years observing Chatham politics I’ve heard and read volumes of hot and heavy debate, including many bitter personal assaults. That’s the nature of politics. What is exceedingly uncommon is the full admission of error, the full retraction, the complete apology unqualified by excuses, an honest reappraisal of the facts, and a sincere wish to atone and start again. Dan Cahoon engaged in a bitter and unfair personal attack, then quickly followed with all of the latter. It takes some courage and guts to eat that much crow so fast. I don’t recall any other example in Chatham politics (and few elsewhere) of how to restore civil debate.

I still don’t know Max Cotten and I don’t know anything except a name and a face for Mr. Brooks or Mr. Bryan. To those persons I send my respect and regard for tackling the daunting task of representing the people of Pittsboro.

I do take issue with your vote for rezoning. You voted yes to rezoning a place that does not need to be rezoned to be a productive resource for Pittsboro.
