I've had several responses from others with simular experiences so I don't feel so alone but more importantly, Theresa Cry and Karen Allen of CCCC were quick to let me know that they did care! Their responses and sincere attitudes righted all of the wrong even if they didn't help my daughter get back on track (and they did) I would have been happy just to know that this was not what CCCC was about but they went above and beyond. As a full-time student, I have experienced your frustrations over lack of communication and unwavering, illogical rules many times. I'm compelled to post now to tell all of the dog owners (and foster folks) out there about a fabulous,best-kept secret! Attagirl K9 is offering its second session of Obedience Training beginning the first Saturday in June and running 6 weeks. I just completed the inaugural session which was soooo good, I've signed up for round 2 with another of my dogs! Attagirl is run by Lisa Mayhew, who is, no exaggeration, dog-trainer extraordinaire!! One of Lisa's passions is to train dogs for search and rescue, and she brings all of her dedication, patience, and wealth of knowledge to her obediance classes. Over the years, I've worked with several trainers here and in my native New England, and I have to say, Lisa is one of the best...but don't ask me, ask my dog!! ;) Classes meet Saturday mornings from 10 - 11, at the Natural Pet Health Store, 919-837-0020 (another AMAZING, hopefully not-so-secret must for animal lovers!) **in Bear Creek. He was probably spooked by the mower. He was well inside the park, but has been known to walk farther than usual when I mow at home. His collar has a silver dog tag with my name, his name, my address and phone on it. He is about ten years old and about 50 lbs. His back legs are partially lame, so he will have a hard time getting out of a hole, climbing a hill/steps or jumping into a car/truck. If I don't stay busy then I pay more attention to how bad I hurt instead of staying busy while ignoring how bad I hurt . Anyway I am at a point I need something I cant afford to buy new but can possibly buy used if someone has it . I need a metal shop Lathe with a minimum of a 4 ft bed with at least 6 inches from the center of the chuck to the bed . I can repair most any type of machine shop equipment so if you have one that needs some tlc I can buy cheap please let me know . I am working on the fuel cell and the solar water heater/ air conditioner and my exercise power generator . Each project will need parts turned I cant turn on the small hobby lathe I have now . I have had really good luck with the HHO fuel cell and we have working blueprints on the solar panels . I cant afford to pay a machine shop for trial and error fitting and this is why I need a shop lathe . It would be nice to find a decent end mill or Bridgeport I could grab too. My projects help me focus and clear my mind . My shop helps me help others and I am trying to make it where I can teach some of what I know to those that need things fixed they cant afford to pay someone to fix . Physically I'm a train wreck but mentally I still have a little brain power left and I would like to share it with others . I have found I can put people that are walking back on wheels so they can get to work . I can still teach people how to service their own car and keep it running smooth . I'm toying with a dangerous Idea . its dangerous because I don't know how to fairly implement it . I have those in the automotive repair and parts business I have dealt with for years that know what's a fair price and what's not . I can find parts for almost anything on wheels . With that in mind I can get parts for people in need far cheaper than anyone else most times . I have shop angels that will fix a car for nothing or a very small fee for those in real need . We know that giving someone food always helps but give them a way to work or the doctor and you give them back their independence . I cant physically do the work anymore but I can put two and two together , the shop angel and the person in need . Id like some input on this ? Any suggestions ? -------------------- 18 -------------------- Date: Mon, 25 May 2009 07:36:56 -0400 From: Melinda Fitzgerald melinda.fitzger...@gmail.com Subject: FREE Horse Clinic on May 30 *FREE Horse Clinic* *WHAT:* Clinic with Jimmy Thomas focusing on ground work issues such as manners, lounging, yielding, trailer loading, spookiness, feet handling, desensitization, etc. *WHEN*: SATURDAY, MAY 30, 2009, 9 AM - NOON *WHERE:* Country Farm & Home Supply, 203 S.
