The win Tuesday night avenged a loss by the Lady Chargers to North Pitt deep in the 2A playoffs two years ago. Carrie Webster got the win on the mound as she only allowed one hit and struck out 10 in getting the complete game shut out. Webster was also 3 for 4 from the plate, with three singles, 2 runs, and an RBI. Kaitlyn Briggs got the Lady Chargers on the board in the first with an RBI single after a single by Carrie Webster and a walk to Padgett Harrington, who walked three times on the night. The Lady Chargers added three more runs in the third after a lead off walk to Lauren Oldham, a bunt single by Christa Surles, and a single by Webster. All three runners came around to score to put the Lady Chargers up 4-0. The Lady Chargers added two more runs in the fourth. Keeley Skinner reached on a fielder's choice and later scored on a RBI double by Christa Surles. Surles then scored on an RBI single by Webster that set the final margin of victory. Christa Surles finished with two hits on the night, a single and a double, while Kaitlyn Briggs and Keeley Skinner also had hits for the Lady Chargers. Three times me and or my daughter has tried to sign up for classes and three times it has been a not so pleasant experience. Starts with telephone tag that can last up to 3 weeks before you finally get to talk to someone only to find out that you have the wrong someone and then you start again with the right someone. Then there seems to be some presumption that you should already know what to do and when you ask questions for guidence they are not received very well or you are given incorrect or incomplete information. It now becomes a job to try to further your education or get one at all. If you have to work a real job in the process you are really up the creek cause you have to take time off and they don't have regular business hours that you can count on. This last time really got me. After the usual telephone tag and meeting with the counseler my daughter was signed up for more than a full schedule for the summer. She goes to pay on Weds. and is questioned as to why she signed up for so many classes and was sent to the counseler, schedule reduced to normal and now and back to pay only now the check that her Church had written her was $13.00 over. Will they give her change? "no" a credit? "no" apply it toward her books? "no" what can she do? "Go back and get the Church to write another check" which wouldn't have been too much in the first place if the counseler had not signed her up for too many classes. So a trip to exchange checks with the correct amount and back on Friday (the last day to pay) after work and guess what, they close early on Friday (the last day to pay). Mom goes for her on Monday to beg them to take a check so daughter won't have to leave work and although apologies were given for not telling her on Weds. they close early on Friday they were far from sincere and even dry and sarcastic and the answer is" no I will not take the check she will have to come back on Weds. and re-register between 9a and 7p (got times this time) She works til 2p goes straight to school and all classes are full. The whole summer is wasted, time and gas already used with the various trips, Church going to have to void yet another check and I could go on and on. Could be me but I have to wonder how many people just give up and years later wish they would have pushed through? Thanks for listening and I hope others don't experience this, Dedrah -------------------- 8 -------------------- Date: Wed, 20 May 2009 17:12:52 -0400 From: msmichele...@aol.com Subject: National Night Out--Harmony Hills--Siler City--August 4th--6-9 pm Hello!
