Reminder about Classified posts

This is a friendly reminder (again) that no matter when you send in a classified post it will NOT appear until the Friday chatlist. Please do NOT email me asking where your classified post is. It will not appear until the Friday Chatlist. If you send in your classified post on Friday AFTER the classified chatlist has already gone out, guess what? You classified post will NOT appear until the FOLLOWING Friday's Classified Chatlist.

If you get an automated receipt after you send in your post that means we HAVE received your post. Regular emails are posted within 24 to 48 hours. Of course, classified posts will NOT appear until the Friday chatlist.

The Friday Classifieds are very popular and it's not unusual to have over 30 to 40 items on the list. Do NOT email me about a missing post unless you have double checked the chatlist again.

The general rule of thumb is that you can post the same service or the same items twice in a row or twice in a month.
Please adhere to this rule. It also helps a lot if you use some descriptive text in your heading besides FOR SALE ie used TV for sale, yardwork services, Queen-Size Bed and lots of other household stuff

Last item! Please remember that the Classified Chatlist is a FREE and popular community service. Neighbors like dealing with neighbors and it's nice to buy stuff or services from folks you "know". Following certain guidelines makes it a better experience for us all.

Subject: a moment to thank the many many people

I just wanted to take a moment to thank the many many people who suggested framers both on the list and via private e-mail.  The overwhelming opinion is Keepsakes in Pittsboro, so I will take my Grandmother's diploma and school paper there this afternoon after work.  That's not a slight against any of the other places mentioned, but since they are A: closest and B:
recommended by roughly 75% of all the people who suggested places to me, I'll try there first.

So thanks everyone.  This is one of the reasons I love the chatlist and living in Chatham County...

Jeff

Subject: ** Would like some feedback on Wild Blue internet service

Good morning,

Just moved to the boondocks and the only opportunity for high-speed internet is satellite.  Can anyone give me some advice on Wild Blue's service.
Thinking of getting the middle package for $70/month plus $300 install charge.

Thanks ~ David

Subject: ooking for someone who is talented in many areas

I am looking for someone who is talented in many areas:  I have antiques, old jewelry/watches, pictures, albums and a few odds and ends that need appraised.  Part for insurance and part to be sold.  Could you recommend a trustworthy, competent person?

I am also interested in taking tai chi classes.  Does anyone in Pittsboro teach this class?

Please respond to Hestercat...earthlink.net

"it was not their job to load lumber".

From my experience with construction workers in more northerly latitudes, they sound like a bunch of imported union workers! =8-0

Sorry that you took offense with my wording, but anyone who works in a business reflects on the owner.

Also, about the lumber company:  This is a generalization, but there are still people who consider women to be too stupid to make any kinds of decisions or to complain when they are mistreated.

On a complete 180 degree turn, Jimmy Brower at Siler City Radiator and Auto Repair is one of the most helpful and honest people that I've ever dealt with.  He treats women as if they are completely competent, and will take time to explain what he's doing and what need to be done to a car.  I recommended him to a friend of mine recently who needed to have her belts checked and possibly replaced on her chevy.  Jimmy had one of his mechanics check it out, and the guy found everything okay.  Jimmy himself checked behind his mechanic, because he saw that my friend was still concerned.

On top of that, he did this no-charge.  I have recommended him to several other people and have gotten glowing reports from every one of them.
Many times, I think we complain, but never give credit where  credit is due, and Jimmy Brower certainly deserves kudos.

Subject: Next Week on the Chatlist - Give credit where credit is due!

From today's chatlist, I pulled a quote from Phyllis Thomas.

"Many times, I think we complain, but never give credit where credit is due"

Last year The Chatham Journal and Chatlist ran a "Best of Chatham" Survey Results posted online at http://www.chathamjournal.com/weekly/news/local/best-of-chatham-60915.shtml

I'd like to take next week and have chatlisters send in their "good service" stories about Chatham County located businesses they have dealt with. You can write in about a good experience you have had, you can tell us about individuals or groups that provided you with a memorable customer experience. You can tell us about more than one experience. This is your chance to share your props with your fellow chatlisters. Tell us why you enjoyed the business experience and why you woudl recommend it to a friend.

Couple of notes - This is NOT a "this business sucks" week and it also NOT for businesses to pat themselves on the back. Per chatlist tradition, annual business introductions take place in November/December

This is an opportunity for local customers to "give credit where credit is due."

Subject: Jonus Nobles for change in Siler City

I believe all residents of Chatham County can see the sun setting on Siler City's future, but no one can see this clearer than those who work(ed) and live in Siler City.  I believe that many elected officials on the Siler City town board and the mayor included have failed to realize the city's potential and have allowed the town to become a laughing stock.
No longer willing to stand aside and allow our current leaders to run this town into the ground, allowing it to become a burden on future generations I am announcing that I Jonus Nobles will be running for the position of mayor of Siler City.  With this announcement I say to you that if elected I will listen to the needs of everyone, I will fight for economic development that will benefit all, and I will support large stable businesses in hopes of providing our citizens with better paying jobs. Finally my only promise the only thing I can promise if elected is that I will change the direction of this town and I will do everything in my power to make sure it is a positive one.

  Sincerely, Jonus Nobles
