I was very disappointed with the Sudsy Dog Wash in Pittboro. The water pressure is very poor for bathing and rinsing medium/large dogs, especially if your dog is double coat. This dog wash is quite costly for a do-your-self dog wash and I wouldn't recommend this dog wash for medium/large dog owners. I'll be trying the "Dog-E-Wash" in Siler City the next time. Hopefully, my dog will get a better wash for my money.

In response to the posting by Sarah Shook on Friday, I just have to say that our experience with this establishment has been quite different from hers. We have been going there for almost five years now and have had a very positive relationship with them. All of the doctors have been very professional, the office staff goes out of their way to be helpful and the nursing/x-ray staff are both knowledgeable and friendly. There have been times when both Dr. Burgert and Leslie Sharpe have seen and helped out members of our family without billing any charges whatsoever. I would highly recommend them to anyone. I am sorry that there was a bad experience but I just wanted to say that that is definitely not the norm at this office.
Thank-you,
Heather Baker

I have never had the least problem with Pittsboro Family's billing practices and find the claim of "fraud" in this case rather startling, to say the least. Sure wish I could have interviewed surgeons for free recently; cost me approximately $350 to pick the one I wanted to work with.

Fearrington Arts & Crafts Club Call for Community Arts Grant Proposals
The 112-member Fearrington Arts & Crafts club announces its second annual arts grants program for individuals and organizations providing arts programs, particularly to the underserved and youth, in Chatham County.
"Each year our members donate small grants ranging from $250-$500 to area groups that are involved with the arts," vice-president Cheryl Gallan said. "Our membership particularly likes to support public schools programs. For example, we provided money to Woods Charter School last year for its after school quilting program, to Horton Middle School for a drum set for its jazz band, and to the Side Street Gallery's Learning Center for multi-media art classes for students who were referred by the Department of Social Services."
Our board will be meeting in March to consider how to distribute four to five small grants of approximately $250 each to arts, theatre, music, and dance related programs and projects in Chatham County and neighboring communities.
The community at large can help add to Fearrington Arts & Crafts Club's funding total by purchasing a $5 donation ticket at Fusions Gallery in Pittsboro for a drawing to win a floral and peacock feather pastel painted and donated by Chapel Hill artist, Helen Knapp. Only 100 tickets are available for purchase. The drawing will take place on Monday, March 5th at the club's next monthly meeting.
The application process is simple. Groups seeking grant money must submit a brief written description about a proposed project or art supplies needed for one along with the approximate number of people served. Mail this information to the club Vice-President along with pertinent contact information and telephone number. Deadline is March 5th. Requests will go before the club's review committee. Grant recipients will be announced by April 1st.

I'm still trying to find someone to make slipcovers. I had one lead but the person did not get back to me. Anyone have an idea? Thanks.
