It’s very easy to type “1905” when you intended to write “1950”

In chatlist #6839, Raymond Gastwaite wrote about a voter who was born in 1905 according to the voter information data and then asked:

It’s very easy to type “1905” when you intended to write “1950.”  Having small typographical errors like this in a database is quite common and has no effect on the actual vote tally.

By contrast, I note that there isn’t any registration data at all for Mr. Gastwaite.  If you’re eligible to vote, I’d suggest registering now so that you’re ready for the next election.  That goes for anyone reading this who might be eligible to vote but is unregistered. Remember, only votes that are actually cast get counted!
